ITE delivered to the UME its first CBRN decontamination station

We have reached a new milestone with the delivery of an innovative CBRN (Nuclear-Radiological, Biological and Chemical) rapid deployment decontamination station for working animals and their operators, designed specifically for the Military Emergency Unit (UME). This project, developed over 18 months from 2023, positions us as a benchmark in advanced decontamination solutions for the field of defence.

“We are very proud to have developed a pioneering solution worldwide, as it is the first time that a specific CBRN decontamination station has been manufactured for working animals and their operators, which reinforces the operational capabilities of the UME and its commitment to innovation and service”.

The station, mounted on a trailer, is autonomous and equipped with its own power generator, water heating system, two tents with decontamination showers for staff and animals, a tent that acts as a changing room and equipment and devices to apply decontaminants. It also has technology to manage all the waste generated during the decontamination process and is equipped with a bar to apply decontaminant on the affected ground after operations. “This project combines the German technological excellence of our represented FUTURETECH (Kärcher Group) with the ability to adapt to the client’s requirements of our Spanish engineering company. It is a clear example of our ability and reliability to bring this type of demanding project to a successful conclusion,” added Sopranis.

Design

The versatile and sustainable design of the system not only ensures efficiency and portability, but also meets high standards of durability and energy savings. With this delivery, the UME becomes the first military unit in the world to have this disruptive capability.

The implementation of this project has involved various areas of ITE, including engineering, special projects, operations and workshops, working closely with FUTURETECH (Kärcher Group). Fernando S. de Sopranis emphasized: “The success of this development reinforces our position as a strategic partner of the UME and as a benchmark company to provide solutions adapted to its specific needs.”

Vision of the future

In addition to being potentially interesting due to its capabilities for each of the UME battalions in Spain, the versatility of the system that makes up the station could be extended to other units of the Armed Forces, State Security Corps and Civil Protection agencies, both in Spain and abroad. In addition, ITE is already exploring new avenues to develop equally innovative CBRN decontamination systems. “We strongly believe that these solutions will be of interest to many other countries and sectors related to defense and security,” Sopranis concluded.

With this initiative, ITE continues to demonstrate its commitment to efficiency, innovation and the development of technologies and products that contribute to improving the operational capabilities of its strategic partners in defence and emergencies.
