ITE strengthens its compliance culture through data protection training
The company is advancing a new phase of its compliance strategy through a GDPR and LOPDGDD data protection training workshop delivered with the support of specialists from Global Protection Gate.
Integración Tecnológica Empresarial held a Data Protection Awareness and Training Workshop on 24 June, focused on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Spanish Organic Law on Data Protection and the Guarantee of Digital Rights (LOPDGDD). The initiative forms part of the company’s ongoing efforts to strengthen and further develop the compliance framework it has been building in recent years.
The training addressed key aspects such as:
- the General Data Protection Regulation;
- the Spanish Organic Law on Data Protection and the Guarantee of Digital Rights;
- accountability within organisations;
- risk management in data processing;
- the protection of personal and sensitive information in day-to-day operations.
The session was led by Eva Pérez Olmedo, Head of Legal Department and Data Protection at ITE, and delivered by Carlos Peña and Rafael Varela, specialist consultants from Global Protection Gate (GPG), a firm with expertise in data protection, regulatory compliance and information security which has been acting as ITE’s Data Protection Officer since January 2026, with the aim of ensuring the specialist guidance and oversight required for a process of continuous improvement.
“Data protection is no longer simply a legal requirement; it has become a strategic element within organisations. Our objective is to continue embedding a culture of compliance based on accountability, risk management and the protection of information across every area of the company,” explains Eva Pérez Olmedo.
The workshop was attended by ITE’s Management Committee, led by Managing Director Luis Pizarro Teno, together with employees from different areas of the business whose day-to-day responsibilities involve the handling of personal and sensitive information. The session was also made available remotely to employees based at different company locations, reflecting the cross-functional nature of an initiative designed to reach the entire organisation progressively.

A new step forward in an established compliance strategy
The training was delivered following an assessment of the current implementation of data protection requirements across the organisation and represents the first stage of a new phase aimed at strengthening and harmonising compliance procedures throughout all business units and corporate departments.
Rather than being a one-off initiative, the workshop forms part of a broader awareness and training programme that will be rolled out progressively across the company, reinforcing internal capabilities to address the challenges posed by an increasingly demanding and evolving regulatory environment.
Data protection and corporate responsibility
The evolution of data protection legislation in recent years has significantly transformed the way organisations are required to manage personal information. The current regulatory framework demands a risk-based approach, proactive accountability and the implementation of measures that ensure personal data is protected throughout its entire lifecycle.
In this context, access to specialist expertise and the continuous training of employees have become essential factors in ensuring regulatory compliance and maintaining the trust of customers, employees, suppliers and partners.
Through this initiative, ITE reaffirms its commitment to best practices in corporate governance, information security and responsible data management, further strengthening an organisational culture focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence across all its activities.
