PERTE of the Spanish Naval Ecosystem

Overview

Through the primary project DTNAVAL, ITE participates in the PERTE of the Spanish Naval Ecosystem, integrated into the tractor project INNCODIS. The initiative aims to drive the digital transformation of the Spanish naval industry through the development and validation of advanced technologies applied to the main shipyard processes, supporting its evolution towards a more efficient, connected, secure and sustainable Shipyard 4.0 model.

Characteristics
Funded by: Unión Europea y Gobierno de España
Budget: € 726.589
INNCODIS flagship project
DTNAVAL primary project
Grant awarded: €363,294.50

Approach

ITE’s contribution has focused particularly on the development of a digital twin aimed at the planning, synchronisation and control of work in progress at the shipyard, as well as on the incorporation of cybersecurity capabilities to protect the digital ecosystem and its associated OT/IT infrastructures.

The solution integrates information from the simulated and real environments to improve parts traceability, compare theoretical planning with actual execution, identify bottlenecks and analyse process times and energy consumption trends. In addition, access control mechanisms, information integrity, monitoring, perimeter protection and secure validation of the technological infrastructure have been addressed.

ITE’s Lines of Action

1. Research and Requirements

Definition of the functional and technological framework of the solution, analysis of shipyard production processes, and establishment of requirements for planning, synchronisation, traceability, data integration and cybersecurity.

2. Technological Development

Design and implementation of the digital twin architecture, processing of material information, capture and exploitation of traceability events, process simulation, and development of protection and security measures for the technological components of the system.

3. Integration and Validation

Integration of the different components and execution of tests to verify system consistency, its ability to adapt to the real process, and the secure operation of the technological infrastructure developed.

Results

The work carried out has resulted in a solution capable of improving the visibility and control of the shipyard’s production process. The digital twin facilitates comparison between planning and execution, the detection of deviations and decision-making support, while the cybersecurity capabilities strengthen the protection of the digital environment. The tests carried out have confirmed the technical feasibility of the system and lay the foundations for progressive industrial deployment and future developments offering greater automation, precision and scalability.

Funded by

The project is developed within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) and is funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU, under the PERTE of the Spanish Naval Ecosystem.

ITE’s participation has an eligible budget of €726,589.00 and a grant awarded of €363,294.50.
